Health Promotion
The Health Promotion Department, located at 73 Beveridge St., Swan Hill, provides a co-ordinated approach to the provision and delivery of a range of services and programs that addresses the health needs of the Swan Hill community. The programs and services reflect National and State initiatives and address local priorities.
The Health Promotion Department provides a diverse range of programs and services including:
- Health education and promotion in pre-school, primary and secondary schools settings
- Community health promotion, education and information
- Screening & Education Services
Well Womenˇ¦s Clinic Pap smear, breast examination, diaphragm fitting, family planning and sexual health advice, urine test and pregnancy test
Health Clinic Checks for cholesterol, blood pressure, urine test, height and weight
Diabetes Nurse Education Services Individual and group education on diabetes, monitoring and management
Asthma Education Services
- Information and resources for health promotion and illness prevention
- Support for initiation of Self-Help groups
- Promotion of health and hospital services

- Involvement in the development of health promotion strategies and partnerships within the Southern Mallee Primary Care Partnership.
Participation in the Swan Hill & District Healthy Network and Healthy Minds Network. Identifying health needs in the community and preparing funding submissions to address needs as appropriate.
- Development & distribution of workplace health promotion package (this will incur a fee for service if taken up by workplaces)
