1. Provision of a comprehensive Orientation Program for all newly appointed staff that meets organisational and individual need.

2. Provision of Staff Development Program for Nursing staff that meet Professional and Personal development needs promotes evidence based clinical practice and enhances quality patient care. Joanna Briggs Institute for evidence based nursing and Midwifery.

3. Co-ordinate the Graduate Nurse Program with the overall focus to build upon the undergraduate program and to facilitate the transition of the graduate into clinical practice.

4. Co-ordinate the Supervised Practice Program for the re-entry Nursing Practice of Registered Nurses Division 1 and Division 2. To provide a supportive environment which assists each participant towards the holistic delivery of quality care and provide a structural education and clinical placement program to enable participants to practice as Registered Nurses.

5. Co-ordinate the No lift Patient Handling System training for Nursing staff to provide a safe working environment which reduces the risk of injury to Nursing staff and patients/residents improves quality of care and complies with legislative industry standards.

6. Facilitate clinical supervision for undergraduate nursing and medical students on clinical placement at Swan Hill District Health.
