Acute Care Ward
Acute Care Ward provides inpatient care for medical and surgical patients. The Ward has Registered Nurses Division One and Two, many of whom have advanced nursing qualifications.
General and Specialist Surgeons, General Practitioners and visiting Physicians, provide medical services.
The services of the Care Co-ordinator are available to assist with discharge planning. Parents of children in hospital are encouraged to be involved in their child's care with facilities available for parent to stay overnight.
There are thirty five beds in the Acute Ward, ten beds in the Day Procedure Unit, eight beds in the Midwifery Unit, six in the Renal Dialysis and one Palliative Care bed.
Visiting hours are 10.30 am - 1.00 pm and 3.00 pm - 8.00 pm Quiet period is from 1.00 pm - 3.00 pm to allow our patients to get the much needed rest they require to help them recover from their illness.
