Diet and Nutrition
For continuity of service provision, The Dietetics Department would like to offer nutrition sessions to staff and parents to assist with implementation of the School Food and Nutrition Policy.

Topic:   Eating on the Grow.
Empowering students to make healthy food choices for healthy growing  bodies in the form of an activity that can be worked on throughout the year with Dietetic presentation and involvement. This may be linked to Human Development program within the school. Single or multiple sessions are available.
Target time:  Any time
Year levels:  Grade 6

 
For the Parents
Topic:   Good food for kids  - Beyond the Jam sandwich!

This is an informal session for parents, with ideas for school lunches, information on growth and eating at school and home
Target time:  All year
Target group: Parents of school age children (Prep to Gr 6)

Foot Care

Topic:   All about feet
This presentation aims to provide information regarding general foot care. Identification of foot and leg parts, as well as footwear advice. Students also learn about general foot problems and their prevention and treatment.
Target time:  All year
Year levels:  Prep - 4

This session educates students on basic foot care, the anatomy of feet and legs, sports injury prevention, and footwear advice.

Back Care

Topic:   Posture Awareness
This presentation will emphasise the importance of maintaining good postures during all activities at school.
Strategies to rectify poor posture, which affect students who sit at a classroom and computer desks for a great deal of time, will also be provided.
Target Time:  Terms 2 - 4
